Spending Time in Canton's Heritage Park
Basking in the sun and taking in the beauty of nature is a great summer activity a lot of people can relate to. My trip to the Heritage Park is a great example of this. Located in the Canton Center, the park is open all year round unless there are special events.
One great thing about the park is that you can rent the pavilions. There are several located all around the area, nearby their various recreational and sports facilities. We had ours near the soccer and softball fields. Not far off from us is the red playscape that is very popular with children and the sand volleyball court, which at that time was empty.
There is a pavilion near the Splash Playground. If you are more of a water fan, this will be a good place to be at. A little to the right and you’ll find the Heritage Hideout Playscape which is literally a large wooden hideout. If this doesn’t remind you of your adventurous years and get you excited, I don’t think anything else will.
On top of the basic facilities like picnic tables, parking and walking tracks, you will find several ponds. If you’re looking for a perfect spot for an Instagram shot, these are the places to be. If you want to look like a sports superstar, there are several playing fields for baseball and softball. There is even an athletic field for track and field enthusiasts.
If you want to see the entire area and be near most of the facilities, the amphitheater is the best location. It is roughly in the center of park with paved walkways for easy access. You can potluck with friends and sit on the benches or celebrate large gatherings in the pavilions. A great weather and good company will make your trip to the Heritage Park in Canton, MI a perfect summer experience.
